Coimbatore, August 25 - A consultation meeting of Vaishnava Acharyas was held in Coimbatore regarding the upcoming 'Samata Ishti Samatva Yagna' to be held in Chennai.
His Holiness Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Sriman Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamigal of the Ubhaya Vedantha Acharya Peetam in Hyderabad, has decided to perform 'Samata Ishti Samatva Yagna'. This yagna is being conducted to foster peace, harmony, and prosperity for all people in the world. The yagna, which includes the chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranamam, is being performed with the belief that service to all living beings is a service to God -- evident to the motto of Vikasa Tarangini "Serve all beings as service to God."
The consultation meeting regarding the event was held at the PSG College of Technology auditorium. The yagna is scheduled to take place from November 6 to 13 at Perambur in Chennai.
Among those who participated in the discussion were Thirukkoshtiyur Sri Madhavan Swamigal, Karamadai Sridhara Bhattar Swamigal, along with Mrs Shyamala Varadharajan, Secretary of Vikasa Tarangini and Sri Raveendra Reddy, President of Jeeyar Educational Trust. A large number of people attended the consultation to extend their support.
A key highlight of this event is the Purattasi Vrat, a 48-day observance designed to encourage participation from every household. An 'Ejamanar' (manager) has been assigned to each village to facilitate this sacred practice.
To begin the vratam, each participating devotee will receive a kalasam (sacred vessel) along with a specific Naama (divine name) from the Vishnu Sahasranamam. The daily ritual involves chanting this assigned Naama 108 times. For each recitation, the devotee should place a single grain of raw rice into their kalasam.
After the 48-day observance, those who bring their kalasam filled with this sacred rice to Chennai will be blessed with the unique and profound opportunity to personally perform Thirumanjanam (Abhishekam) for Sri Ramanujacharya and Perumal. This simple daily act represents a small yet significant contribution, connecting each individual's devotion to a larger, divine purpose. Additionally, devotees are welcome to visit Chennai during the yagna to perform poojas and receive the Yagya Prasadham (blessed food).
This noble yagna is a manifestation of the universal prayer, "Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu," which means "May all beings everywhere be happy and free." Through this profound initiative, His Holiness Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Sriman Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamigal aims to bring this ancient vision to life, demonstrating the timeless power of compassion and kindness. Readers are warmly invited to participate in the upcoming yagna and contribute to this sacred mission of peace and universal well-being.
