Coimbatore will witness a significant commemorative gathering on Saturday, February 28, 2026, as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Coimbatore Mahanagar, organises a public event marking one hundred years of the organisation’s journey in national service. The programme will be held at the Sri Ramakrishna Arts College Auditorium, Nava India, Coimbatore, with reception and high tea scheduled at 5.00 pm followed by the main session at 5.30 pm.
The centenary year represents an important milestone in the history of the RSS, founded in 1925, which has grown over the past century into a widespread volunteer movement rooted in the ideals of discipline, service and social responsibility. The celebration forms part of the nationwide observances reflecting on a century of such activities and the role of organised civic participation in shaping the nation.

The event will be graced by noted public intellectual and Thuglak Editor Sri S. Gurumoorti as Chief Guest. Known for his commentary on economic, cultural and national issues, he is expected to address the relevance of the Sangh’s philosophy in contemporary India and speak about the responsibilities of citizens in the coming decades.

The programme is being coordinated by Mahanagar Sanghachalak M. Raja and Vibhag Sanghachalak N. Sukumar, who have extended an open invitation to members of the public, students, professionals and families to participate in the gathering.
With the completion of a hundred years since its founding, the event is expected to bring together citizens from various walks of life to listen, interact and commemorate a century-long journey of volunteer service and nation-building ideals. All are welcome to attend the public function.
A copy of the official invitation is appended for reference.
